Veterans Administration XC Files with Alec Ferretti
The Veterans Administration’s XC Files are often overlooked by researchers, despite holding over a million boxes of records on 20th-century U.S. veterans. Detailed service, medical, and personal documents are included in these files, offering rich insights into veterans’ lives. Their creation, contents, and storage system will be explained, and guidance will be provided on how access can be requested through the VA’s complex procedures. Examples will be shown, and practical tips will be shared.
